Assessment Center
The Assessment Center at Bluegrass Community and Technical College conducts job profiles, job analyses, employment testing and assessment services. Test and assessment results are used as components in determining employment, job promotion, training needs and apprenticeship programs. Our goal is to assist industries in selecting, developing, and administering appropriate test instruments to evaluate skill levels of applicants or current employees. We will customize our services to meet the specific needs of the community, individual, business or organization.
Assessments offered include:
SAGE – Various tests used to measure general learning ability, reasoning, verbal aptitude, language abilities, numerical aptitude, mathematical abilities, vocational interests, and work attitudes. A hands-on test battery measures spatial aptitude, motor coordination, finger dexterity and manual dexterity.
TABE – Test of Adult Basic Education. Assesses vocabulary and reading comprehension, and mathematics concepts and applications.
KMSS - Kentucky Manufacturing Skills Standard. Standard divided into three skills and knowledge categories: Academic, Employability, Occupational. The eight program areas within these categories are Math, English, Machine Tool Technology, Welding Technology, Computer Aided Drafting Technology, Industrial Systems Maintenance, Printing Technology and Industrial Maintenance.
NOCTI – National Occupational Competency Testing Institute. Occupational skills testing for entry or equivalent workers, used to determine proficiency in specific occupations, such as Industrial Electronics, Electricity, Maintenance, Toolmaker or Engineering.
WorkKeys® – Promotes profiling to determine skill requirements, skill assessment to determine current skills, and instructional support to improve skills. Assessments include Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Teamwork, Listening, Business Writing, Reading for Information, and Observation.
Miscellaneous – Various testing available to assess personality factors, mechanical aptitude, industrial supervision skills, career plan and others.
