Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal

Students who wish to appeal "Satisfactory Academic Process" must submit a letter in writing to the Student Financial Aid Office. Your appeal must . . .

  • Include your name and social security number.
  • Be addressed to the SAP Appeals Committee.
  • Be one to two typed pages in length.
  • Be a detailed explanation why you did not maintain "Reasonable Academic Process".
  • Include an explanation of your educational goals.
  • Be signed by the student.
  • You may include any additional documentation you feel would support your appeal.
  • Submit your appeal to: SAP Appeals Committee, Office of Student Financial Aid, 121 Oswald Bldg/Cooper Drive, Lexington, KY 40506-0235.

The Financial Aid Appeals Committee generally meets once a month. Your appeal must be must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by 5:00 p.m the day prior to the meeting date in order for the committee to review your appeal. Appeals meetings are general held at 2:30 p.m. The decision of the Appeals Committee will be mailed to you within two business days of the meeting.
