Welcome to Experiential Education

Bluegrass Community and Technical College, takes pride in helping our students gain the experience they need, to get they job of their choice.

What is Experiential Education?

Cooperative & Internship Education at Bluegrass Community and Technical College is an educational strategy that integrates classroom learning with 'real world' work experience, paid or unpaid, in an area related to a student's career goals and/or major. How Do Co-op, Internship, and Practicum work?

Criteria for Employer Participation

Any employer will be welcome to participate in the Experiential Education Program who can provide one or more full-time or part-time positions that meet certain requirements. For more Information please see our Experiential Education Brochure.

Internship/Practicum Programs

  • Paid real-world work / learning experience
  • 80 hours of work per credit hour
  • Alpha/Numeric Grading
  • All Co-op majors
  • Usually unpaid, real-world / learning experience
  • 40 hours of work per credit hour
  • P/F grading
  • Transfer Students
  • Non-degree students
  • Pre-baccalaureate students
  • Students seeking new Career paths
  • All majors not included in Co-op
