ADMISSIONSTo be admitted, junior and senior high school students should send:
ADVISINGTo assist you in determining the courses in which you can enroll, please contact Rebecca Simms to schedule an advising session. Refer to page 69 of the KCTCS catalog for a complete list of transferable courses. REGISTRATIONWhen all required materials are received at the office of Opportunity College, with a course enrollment form, students may enroll in up to two courses per semester. Junior and Senior high school students must meet course prerequisites and ACT/ COMPASS scores listed in the catalog to enroll in transferable courses. FINANCIAL AIDThe Mary Jo Young scholarship, offered through the KY Dept. of Education, may cover course costs and book fees. TUITION AND PAYMENTSBCTC waives part of high school student tuition, so that the cost is 50% of regular tuition. Effective summer 2008, tuition for high school students will be $59.50 per credit hour. High school students should register with the office of Opportunity College to receive this tuition waiver. PARKINGHigh school students taking courses at the Cooper or Regency campuses should call the UK Parking Office at 257-5757 or check http://www.uky.edu/Parking for information about parking permits. TRANSFER OF COURSESTechnical program dual credit courses transfer to colleges within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Some technical courses may transfer to other four-year colleges or universities. General education dual enrollment courses will transfer to any KCTCS institution and may be included in the KCTCS General Education Certification which will transfer to Kentucky public four-year colleges and universities. High school students who expect to complete requirements for a bachelor’s degree at another college or university should consult the curriculum recommended in the catalog of the institution to which they plan to transfer.
