On-Line Support Group and Cindy Baker

After teaching in the classroom for twelve years, I taught my first on-line class. It felt like everything was different. After one particularly frustrating morning spent answering my on-line students’ emails, I wanted to hurl my computer through the window! I realized I needed help! I needed people! I started our “On-Line Support Group” in January of 2009. This is a faculty-sponsored and faculty-led group. We eat, we cry, we laugh, and we share ideas about what’s working (and not working for us) in our on-line classes.

Distributions Lists

BCTC provides several distribution lists which will be of interest to online faculty:

bl_onlineinstructors@kctcs.edu

bctc_distancelearning@kctcs.edu

This distribution list, also maintained by Bill Davis, is used by students with distance learning questions. Membership of the list includes personnel in Distance Learning Office, Administrative Computing (Connie Rine), personnel from Records and Admissions, eMentors, and online advisors.
