Welcome!

On behalf of the faculty and staff of BCTC nursing programs, we welcome your interest in the Associate Degree Nursing program.  We know that you have much to offer our program in terms of your experience and education and hope that you will consider our program as you progress toward your RN licensure.

LPNs who have practiced at least one full year within the past three years and hold a current, unrestricted license for practical nursing may be admitted to the ADN program following the completion of the pre-requisite general education courses.  In order to be admitted into the ADN program, LPN's must meet all selective admission criteria of the class to which they are applying.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College Practical Nurse Graduates

If you are a LPN who has graduated from Bluegrass Community and Technical College, you may qualify for 15 hours of nursing courses toward ADN program requirements.  These courses include:

NR 115 (9 credit hours)
NR 125 (2 credit hours)
NR 235 (4 credit hours)

Graduates of Other Programs

If you are a LPN who graduated from any other program and hold a current, unrestricted license, you may be eligible to receive credit for NR 115 (9 credit hours).  You can read more about this in  the BCTC Catalog under the heading of External Experiences.  We recognize your ability to bypass our entry level nursing course and would seek placement for you in the second semester of the program.
