KCTCS Embraces Upcoming NBC “Community” Series LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 16, 2009) – NBC’s new show “Community” is all about community colleges and the role they play in providing individuals with a second chance. The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is embracing the new series and the dialogue it will create around two-year colleges. The new television series will premiere 9:30 p.m. Thursday, September 17. KCTCS will run a 30 second television spot during the premiere, encouraging Kentuckians to learn how KCTCS’ 16 colleges are transforming the lives of citizens and the state’s economy. In addition, Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) encourages viewers to post their thoughts about the show on the BCTC Fan Page discussion board on Facebook or through Twitter hashtag #bctccommunity. BCTC also encourages people to read real stories about how BCTC has impacted the lives students or watch a video on a day in the life of a student. The stories are posted on the college homepage, http://www.bluegrass.kctcs.edu , and the videos are posted on the BCTC channel on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/bluegrassctcofficial . Since 1998, KCTCS has transformed the lives of one in eight Kentuckians.
