Winchester-Clark County Community Realizes the Dream of a New College Campus BCTC Dedicates Winchester-Clark County Campus
WINCHESTER, KY (Thursday, September 25, 2008) – Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) celebrated a new era in education for Winchester-Clark County with the dedication of the BCTC Winchester-Clark County campus on September 25. The new campus, located at 2020 Rolling Hills Lane in Winchester is a state-of-the-art 23,645 square foot building that currently serves more than 600 students this fall. The building houses nine classrooms, a biology/chemistry laboratory, computer classroom, computer and resource room, student lounge, meeting rooms, office space for faculty, and a daycare facility set to open in November. The 4:00 p.m. dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Senator R. J. Palmer, Representative Don Pasley, Winchester Mayor Ed Burtner, Clark County Judge Executive Henry Branham, Executive Director Winchester-Clark County Industrial Authority Todd Denham, KCTCS President Dr. McCall, KCTCS Board of Regents Chair Richard A. Bean, BCTC Board of Directors Chair Florence Sue Huffman, members of the KCTCS Board of Regents and numerous business and community representatives as well as BCTC faculty, staff and students. The building was designed by Voelker. Blackburn. Niehoff. Architects of Louisville, KY. Contractors for this project were James R. Leake & Son Contractors. State oversight on this project was provided by Butch Hatcher, Project Architect, Division of Engineering, Commonwealth of Kentucky and Jody McKee, Capital Project Manager for KCTCS.
