BCTC Celebrates Graduates at Commencement

LEXINGTON, KY (May 5, 2008) –Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) held its 2008 commencement ceremony Sunday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lexington Civic Center. BCTC President Dr. Augusta A. Julian congratulated more than 900 students who participated in the exercises and welcomed commencement speaker Dr. Charles Byers, Professor Emeritus, University of Kentucky.

Outstanding graduates in 38 BCTC programs of study were also recognized at the event.  Paul G. Embs, Clark Energy Cooperative, Inc. was named Outstanding Alumnus of the Year and Practical Nursing Coordinator, Brenda Willoughby, was awarded the Carolyn Beam Faculty Award.

BCTC serves 12,300 students at its six campuses in Lexington, Lawrenceburg, Danville and Winchester–Clark County.
