BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus Receives $335,043 From U.S. Department of Education

(left to right) BCTC President/CEO, Dr. Augusta Julian, Representative Don Pasley, Congressman Ben Chandler, and BCTC Winchester-Clark County Liaison, JoEllen Reed.LEXINGTON, KY (March 17, 2008) – Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) students will enjoy the latest technology and lab equipment thanks to Congressman Ben Chandler’s support of the new Winchester-Clark County campus. Congressman Chandler presented Bluegrass Community & Technical College President, Dr. Augusta Julian, with a check for $335,043 from the U.S. Department of Education. The funds were awarded to purchase technology equipment for the new Winchester-Clark County campus.

The federal funds will be used for one science lab, two computer labs, one Learning Resource Center and 10 “Smart Classrooms.”

“The planning and construction of the Winchester-Clark County Campus has been a partnership from the start,” said BCTC President Dr. Augusta Julian. “With this funding, local and regional students will benefit from Congressman Chandler’s vision. We are grateful for his support of high quality career and transfer education.”

The campus is located at 2020 Rolling Hills Lane, Winchester, and is scheduled to be completed in April.
