Sunny Skies and Bright Futures for BCTC Students Attending International Builders Show

LEXINGTON, KY (February 29, 2008) – Warm breezes, sunny skies and 92,000 building industry professionals were just a part of the excitement at the 2008 International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida. Attendees at the show, held February 13-16 at the Orange County Convention Center, included four Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) construction technology students and their instructor.

The trip sponsored by the Homebuilders Association of Kentucky for the BCTC student homebuilders’ chapter (left to right) Sean Fisher, Chris Waits, Katherine Hardy, Kim Stevens and (rear) Claude Gross, BCTC carpentry instructor.afforded the students the opportunity to attend four days packed full of education, exhibits and special events including over 1,900 exhibitors with the latest in building products, services and technologies.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to get national exposure and view the Residential Development Competition for 2-4 year colleges,” said Claude Gross, carpentry instructor. “We can’t say enough about how our program has developed and is supported both by the Lexington and Kentucky Homebuilders Associations.”

Hosted annually by the National Association of Home Builders, the next International Builders Show will be in Las Vegas, January 20-23, 2009.
