BCTC to Host the 2008 “Lexington Regional Science Olympiad”

LEXINGTON, KY (February 4, 2008) – Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) Cooper Campus, 470 Cooper Drive will be the site of the 2008 “Lexington Regional Science Olympiad”  on Saturday, March 1.  The Event will take place from 9:15 a.m. – 3 p.m.

As the largest Regional Science Olympiad in the state, the participants will include 12 middle schools and 10 high schools, competing in the areas of astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, earth sciences, and math. Winners will advance to the state competition held April 26, at Western Kentucky University.

Participating schools include:

Bell Central Elementary and High Schools, Corbin High School, Estill County Middle and High Schools, Frakes Elementary, Lexington Traditional Middle School, Lone Jack Middle School, Madison Southern High School, Middlesboro High School, Page Middle School, Right Fork Middle School, Scott County Middle and High Schools, and Yellow Creek Middle School.
