Access and Opportunity Summit Offered to Educate and Empower Latino Students
LEXINGTON, KY (October 1, 2007) – “Empowering Latino Student Success through Action and Multicultural Partnerships” is the theme of Bluegrass Community & Technical College’s and Kentucky State University’s third annual Access and Opportunity Summit. The two day event will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2007 and Friday November 2, 2007 at the Central Public Library, 140 East Main Street, Lexington.
Featured speakers include Roger Rosenthal, Executive Director of Migrant Legal Action and co-chair of National Hispanic Education Coalition and Norman Bristol Colon, Executive Director of Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs, Pennsylvania.
Workshop topics include bridging cultural gaps through education, barriers to minority/immigrant student success, and coalition building across cultural barriers.
