Press Release - June 4, 2007
BCTC Honors Outstanding Faculty and Staff
In addition, one KCTCS staff member and one KCTCS faculty member were selected for statewide honors. Cris Crowley, Director of the Adult Education, Family Literacy & Corrections Programs at Madisonville Community College, received the 2007 System Award of Excellence for KCTCS staff, while Michael Boyd, an assistant professor at Owensboro Community and Technical College, received the System Award of Excellence for faculty members.
“The selection process is never an easy task, and this year was no exception,” said KCTCS President Michael B. McCall. “The President’s Leadership Seminar spent many hours reviewing the portfolios that were submitted by the college nominees. Cris and Michael were recognized not only for their contributions to their individual colleges, but to the entire System.” Crowley was recognized for her leadership in transforming the adult education program at MCC into a national model. Boyd received the 2007 USA Today Entrepreneurship Faculty of the Year Award for his creation of the Team Leadership Certificate (TLC), an innovative, eight-course program for OCTC’s Business Administration Program.
