Student’s Success Began with a Single BCTC Class LEXINGTON, KY (May 18, 2007) Esther Hulshizer had no idea when she followed her husband to Lexington to support his pursuit of a doctorate in Pharmacology at the University of Kentucky it was her academic career that would bloom. Hulshizer, who decided to return to college by taking a single Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) foreign language class, recently graduated with a 4.0 GPA and an Associate in Arts Degree from Bluegrass Community & Technical College. She was chosen as a member of the 2007 Kentucky All State Academic Team for Phi Theta Kappa, named Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, and is a 2007 USA Today National All-USA Academic Team Nominee. Hulshizer said, I am so grateful to the teachers who took the time to really care. They helped me realize that an education was truly within my reach. Attaining this degree has given me the confidence to continue to achieve. She is continuing her education at the University of Kentucky as an accounting major in the College of Business and Economics. |
