SCHS Manufacturing Academy Students Participate in Interactive Exercise at BCTC LEXINGTON, KY (March 7, 2007) – Twenty students from the Manufacturing Academy at Scott County High School recently participated in an interactive exercise at Bluegrass Community & Technical College. Students were introduced to three separate, but integral phases of manufacturing. The first stage involved the drafting, drawing and design of a specially designed The Manufacturing Academy was developed for area high schools by the Center for Quality People (CQPO), Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky Community & Technical College (KCTCS), Bluegrass Community & Technical College, Bourbon County Public Schools and Paris Independent Schools. In the Academy’s pilot year, Bourbon County High School and Paris Independent Schools participated. The second year of the academy has seen the addition of Scott County High School and Southside Area Training Center in Lexington. The students will also visit the Advanced Technology Center in Georgetown, and the University of Kentucky‘s College of Engineering. |
