Local Candidates to Address Water and Other Environmental Issues Facing Lexington/Fayette County

Place: BCTC Cooper Campus, Academic Technical Building Lobby, 470 Cooper Drive,
Lexington.

LEXINGTON, KY (October 30, 2006) – Bluegrass Community & Technical College will host candidates Gorton, Kay, Gray, Pratt, and Shafer at an “Election Teach-In” on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in the Academic Technical Building Lobby, of the Cooper Campus.

The At-Large and District 3 Candidates have been asked to present their viewpoints on environmental issues facing Lexington/Fayette County. Topics addressed will include sewage and storm water problems, potential EPA fines, the urban service boundary, Purchase of Development Rights, transportation, the water issue, air quality/climate change, and green space.

Ray Wilkie, who is not a candidate for public office, has been asked to address the water issue.
