Safety Advisory Indecent Exposure

September 26, 2008

The University of Kentucky Police Department is investigating a report of indecent exposure in the Scott St. area of campus.  A subject driving a grey sedan has been reported to have exposed himself to a female student when asking for driving directions.

Suspect descriptions are as follows:

The unknown suspect is described as a white male in his late 30’s or early 40’s, approximately 5’11’’ with a medium to heavy build.  He is further described as having a medium complexion, short brown hair, and partial facial hair (possibly a mustache or goatee).  The subject was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt and dark shorts and driving a newer model 4-door charcoal grey sedan.  If you see someone matching this description, please contact UK Police by dialing 911 from a campus phone or #UKPD (#8753) from a cellular phone.

UK Police offer the following safety precautions:

  • If you see anyone acting suspicious, go to the nearest phone and call 911 or use your cellular phone by dialing #UKPD (#8573).
  • Always be aware of your surroundings and what other people around you         are doing.
  • Carry a cell phone or other personal safety device.
  • Do not travel alone after dark; always walk with a friend or with a group.
  • Request an escort by calling the UK Campus Escort Program “SafeCats” at 323-FREE (323-3733) or UK Police at 257-1616.
  • Park only in well lit areas.
  • Be aware of where the campus emergency phones are located.
