Resources for International Students
The BCTC Learning Resource Center welcomes students of all nationalities. In addition to all of our regular library resources, our resources also include specialized database interfaces, foreign language newspaper resources, and a bibliography that may be useful to our international community. BibliographySelected Multicultural Resources at the LRC Ebscohost - Language InterfaceWhen using any of our Ebscohost Databases , international students have the option to select from over 10 different language interfaces. Just select the language you want from the drop down box labeled Language at the upper right hand corner of the main search interface. The EBSCOhost screens will now display instructions in the language you selected. Also, many HTML full text articles in Ebsco have the option to be fully translated into several different languages. When this feature is available for an article, you will see a drop down box for language selection near the top of the article itself. For articles without this feature, you may use a translator interface such as AltaVista Babelfish. NewsBank - Access World NewsIn the NewsBank database, international students can select from over 700 international newspapers sources, in addition to the over 800 U.S. newspaper sources, that are available in Newsbank's Access World News section. Newsbank's Access World News also has a language interface dropdown box in the upper right hand corner, similar to the one in Ebscohost databases, with a choice betwen English and Spanish interfaces.
