Do I Need to Check or change my Cookie setting?

"Cookies Enabled" is generally a default browser setting, so if you are unsure of what cookies are and how to change this setting, your browser is probably already set appropriately for EZproxy.

But you may need to check or adjust this setting, if you having trouble getting into proxied databases. Specific information is provided below for Internet Explorer 7 and Netscape 7. For other browsers, you should be able to look at the help information for "cookies" and choose the least restrictive setting (e.g., allow all cookies).

Internet Explorer

  • Click on the Tools menu.
  • Choose Internet Options.
  • Click to expand the "Privacy" tab.
  • Slide the slide bar all the way to the bottom.
  • The bottom option is "Accept all cookies".

Netscape 7

  • Click on the Edit menu.
  • Choose Preferences.
  • Click to expand the "Privacy & Security" tab.
  • Select Cookies.
  • Choose "Enable all cookies".
