Circulation Policy

BCTC and UK undergraduate students may check out books for four weeks. Faculty and graduate student book checkout is for three months. Audio-visual materials may be checked out for two weeks.

A valid student ID is required to check out reserves, books, and audiovisuals.

Overdue Fines: The fine for overdue books is 10 cents per day with a maximum of $10. The fine for overdue reserve materials is 1 cent per minute. The fine for overdue interlibrary loans is $1 per day. You must pay fines in full in the Business Office.

Library Delinquency: Any item overdue more than 90 days will be considered lost and the borrower will be declared delinquent for the price of the material plus the $10 overdue fee. You will be prevented from registering, graduating, and receiving transcripts if you have a library delinquency.


Renewals: If you've checked out materials from our library and would like to renew them, please call or come to our circulation desk (Cooper Campus, 246-6380; Leestown Campus, 246-6713) or use the KCTCS Catalog self-renew option.  To return items, please bring them to the Circulation Desk at Cooper or Leestown.

Community Borrowers: If you are community borrower, you may check out books for four weeks and AV items for two weeks, with a limit of fifteen total items checked out at any one time. The fine schedule for community borrowers is the same as it is for other borrowers (see above).
