WS 200 Women’s Studies in the Social Sciences

This course is an introduction to the study of women’s lives from a social science perspective, using a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary approach. Introduces students to social science explanations for sex-typed behavior, to social perceptions of women and men, and to the roles of women in social and cultural life. AVAILABLE ONLINE!

  • WS 200, Women’s Studies in the Social Sciences, fulfills 3 credit hours under the General Education requirements for Social Science and transfers easily to UK. (It can also be used to satisfy the Cultural Studies requirement for the AA or AS degrees.)

WS 201 Women’s Studies in the Arts and Humanities

This course is an introduction to women's history in work, family and creative production from a humanities' perspective.This course presents a set of organizing ideas for examining issues and problems of women in contemporary society and gives students opportunities for writing, interviewing, and discussing issues of gender, class, and race from an interdisciplinary point of view. It introduces students to the basic methods of humanistic inquiry in general and humanistic women's studies in particular. AVAILABLE ONLINE. Check flier out here!
