Annual Priorities
2008-2009 Annual PrioritiesThe Administrative Planning Team drafted the 2009-2010 Annual Priorities at the Strategic Plan Retreat in April 2009. The Leadership Executive Team finalized and approved the priorities in July 2009. Each priority is associated with at least one of the College's Goals in the 2006-2010 Strategic Plan.
Annual Priorities & Strategies for 2009-2010 1. Assessment/Reaccreditation Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Evaluation and Customer Service: Goal 29 - Enhance assessment and evaluation across the College. Teaching and Learning: Goal 11 - Promote and support expansion of quality education. 1.1 Host a successful visit by the SACS-COC reaffirmation On-Site Review Team. 1.2 All units develop and evaluate plans and assessments to complete annual feedback cycle and show use of results for improvement. 1.3 Develop additional and consistent assessment of student learning outcomes related to general education and program competencies.
2. Quality Education Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Student Success: Goal 8 - Enhance learning support services for all students. Teaching and Learning: Goal 11 - Promote and support expansion of quality education. 2.1 Implement Learning Commons concept bringing together learning support, library services, technology access, etc. across college. 2.2 Ensure the quality of the online teaching and learning experience by implementing improved student services and faculty support strategies. 2.3 Develop and implement the QEP-Read for LIFE with broad awareness, involvement, and support across the college.
3. Finance and Fund-Raising Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Teaching and Learning: Goal 11 - Promote and support expansion of quality instruction. Community Outreach: Goal 19 - Establish a comprehensive fund-raising/development program. 3.1 Increase community partnerships and gifts to the Foundation. 3.2 Strengthen link between annual planning and budgeting to support strategic planning and college annual priorities. 3.3 Conduct planning for new and existing facilities and implement strategies to support effective and safe campuses.
4. Enrollment/Retention Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Student Access: Goal 3 - Develop an enrollment growth strategy/plan through which access and opportunity are expanded throughout the Bluegrass Region. Student Success: Goal 6 - Develop programs and services designed to consistently improve retention for all student populations; Goal 7 - Enhance developmental education at all campuses; Goal 8 - Enhance learning support services for all students. Diversity and Global Awareness: Goal 23 - Enhance diversity outreach services/programs for students, faculty, and staff. Evaluation and Student/Customer Service: Goal 30- Improve student/customer service across the college. 4.1 Create a new Academic Support division, coordinating with Student Development and Enrollment Management (SDEM), to increase student access, success, and retention. 4.2 Implement and evaluate new class scheduling model to meet changing needs of students and increase flexibility and efficiency. 4.3 Implement and evaluate strategies to assist students with financial aid or scholarships to maintain attendance and eligibility and to address college financial obligations under Title IV.
5. Organizational Development Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Technology and Communication: Goal 27 - Enhance usability and utilization of college website and develop a college intranet to facilitate better internal communication. Evaluation and Student/Customer Service: Goal 30 - Improve student/customer service across the college. 5.1 Continue to develop partnerships and communication among administration, faculty, staff, and students. 5.2 Improve abilities to assist students and employees by improving knowledge of people and units responsible for services. 5.3 Consider ways to recognize and reward faculty and staff for excellent performance. 6. Community Engagement Strategic Plan 2006-2010 Technology and Communication: Goal 27 - Enhance usability and utilization of college website and develop a college intranet to facilitate better internal communication; Goal 28 - Integrate a comprehensive marketing strategy across the college. 6.1 Develop new college strategic plan with broad input by internal and external constituents. 6.2 Develop and implement an integrated marketing and recruiting plan for the college. 6.3 Collect and review community partnerships to identify additional opportunities to create strategic alliance.
