LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 17, 2012) – The Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) Computer and Technology Club will present Rover, the group’s four-wheeled robot, on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. in the main lobby of the Oswald building on the Cooper Campus.
Rover was built and programmed by the BCTC Computer and Technology Club members. The robot can balance objects as it rolls up and down inclines and is controlled by remote.
“We are happy to apply what we've learned in computer programming and calculus toward a project that challenged us to think in new ways,” Computer and Technology (C&I) Club President Mark Simonds said.
Computer & Information Technologies Professor Robert Chirwa taught many of the students who worked on this project and is the sponsor of the BCTC C&I club.
