BCTC is approved for the enrollment of veterans and/or dependent/spouse of a veteran to receive Veterans Educational Assistance Allowances.

BCTC does not have a Veteran Representative or Veteran Office on site. The student should direct all questions concerning VA benefits to the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) at 1 (888) 442-4551. BCTC does not issue your payment; this is completed by the Department of Veteran Affairs. BCTC certifies your enrollment only.

VA regulations may change from time to time, so it is important that the student maintain regular contact with the DVA. Failure to report changes in student status may result in the individual's being held liable by the VA for any overpayment. It is imperative that the student read and closely follow the guidelines adapted from VA regulations found online at http://www.gibill.va.gov/.

New Students Applying for VA Education Benefits

Students applying for Chapter 33, Post 9/11 benefits should first complete the application online through eBenefits and then print a copy of your application with the confirmation page and submit to the VA Certifying Official.

Students applying for Chapter 30, 35, 1606, 1607 may require additional documents to submit to the VA Certifying Official.

Students receiving Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab assistance need to provide the BCTC Certifying Official with a copy of their VA Form 1905, or have your case worker provide this before your enrollment can be certified.

Please note: only students receiving Chapters 31 (Voc Rehab) and 33 (Post 9/11) VA Educational Benefits will have their tuition payments submitted directly to BCTC.  All other students are responsible for making payment arrangements with the business office for payment of their tuition and fees.

New and Continuing Students

• BCTC requires that any student applying for or using VA benefits to complete a Schedule Information Card at the beginning of every semester that the student is enrolled at BCTC.
• Students are responsible for notifying the BCTC VA Certifying Official of any changes in their Schedule (add/drop) during every semester.
• Students changing their school to BCTC (who have received VA benefits at another school in the past) or students changing their program/major.
• To complete the VA form 22-1995, Request for Change of Program or Place of Training, online at eBenefits.

Kentucky Tuition Waiver

• Students must print and mail the application to the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs to the address listed below.
• Click here to complete the Tuition Waiver Application.
• Students must submit the KTW Certificate to the BCTC VA Certifying Official to have their tuition waived once approved.

GoArmyED Tuition Assistance Program

• Currently GoArmyEd Tuition Assistance Program is not processed through the Military and Veterans Student Services Office.
• All interested students, please start at your unit for the specifics and eligibility requirements.
• Please click here https://www.goarmyed.com to visit the GoArmyEd website.
• Please note that once Tuition Assistance Approval is made, that documentation is to be turned into the BCTC Business office for billing.
• Students receiving GoArmyED Tuition Assistance will have these funds subtracted before tuition is reported for those students receiving Chapter 33 Post 9/11 tuition payment.

Kentucky National Guard Tuition Assistance

• Tuition Assistance is available by inquiring at your unit to obtain the necessary application materials. 
• Deadlines are April 1st for Summer and Fall semesters and October 1st for spring semester.
• The National Guard Center will load this information for ALL institutions in the state and will then be distributed to the BCTC Business Office and applied to your student account.
• Changes in location of educational training cannot be made at the Office of Military and Veterans Student Services; the Guards MUST contact Boone National Guard Center at (502) 607-1307.
• Students who receive National Guard Tuition Assistance may also receive VA benefits, however your national guard tuition assistance is subtracted before processing for those receiving Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill tuition payments.

Federal Tuition Assistance through the Kentucky National Guard

• Federal Tuition Assistance pays 75% and the service member pays the remaining 25%.
