Search for Articles

Locate Periodical Articles

Periodicals are magazines, journals and newspapers. Some are available full-text online. Others are in paper form in the library. Your instructor may ask that you find an article in a scholarly or peer-reviewed journal rather than a magazine to get more in depth research for your topic.

  • This site explains the difference between a magazine and scholarly journal: http://lib.utsa.edu/Research/Subject/scholarlyguide.html
  • You can search for articles on any topic in the Academic Search Premier database at the LRC web page: Academic Search Premier
  • You can also search for articles in other Ebsco databases available at the LRC web page: Other EBSCOhost Databases (Just put a check mark by the databases that interest you and press enter. Then, type in your search terms.)
  • You can find other articles databases to search as well, at the LRC's Find an Article  web page
  • If the full text of an article is not available online check the library catalog to see if BCTC subscribes to it. You may also wish to use Interlibrary Loan to borrow articles from another library.
