Student involvement can be one of the greatest, most rewarding experiences you will have while you are in college. BCTC has student organizations that reflect the diversity of student life on campus. There are student interest groups, as well as professional and honorary organizations that provide opportunities for career enhancement and leadership development. The college also sponsors a Student Government Association (SGA), which serves as the official student voice to college administration. For a complete list of registered organizations, please visit Student Organizations.
It's proven that the more students are involved on campus, the more successful students are academically. For this reason, BCTC strives to provide opportunities for students to engage in activities outside the classroom that enriches the college experience. Student Activities hosts annual events that include a fall picnic, spring fling, ice cream socials, and community service projects, among others. These are great opportunities for students to take a welcome break from coursework and get some free food! For more information about upcoming activities and to access the calendar of events, please visit Student Activities.
Intramural sports are a great opportunity to participate in organized recreational sports that encourage student involvement, a healthy and active lifestyle, and a sense of community among students. BCTC offers basketball, flag football, and soccer. For a complete list of eligibility requirements, sports guidelines, and seasonal meetings and games, please visit Intramural Sports.
Whether you are pursing performing arts as a career or hobby, BCTC has many opportunities to showcase your creative side. BCTC sponsors the Bluegrass Accolade, which is a literary journal containing poems, short stories, and art created and submitted by college faculty, staff, and students. In addition, BCTC Chorale is open to students interested in vocal performance with an ensemble. There are also annual theatre productions, providing opportunities for students interested in performance or production techniques.
