International Student Services

Transcript Requirements

First-time Students

A first-time student is someone that has never attended a post-secondary institution (college or university). If you are a first-time student you will be required to submit an official secondary education (high school) transcript.

International transcripts must be in English in order to be accepted. You may use an approved evaluating agency in order to translate your secondary education transcripts or you may use another third party.

  • Translations not done through an approved evaluating agency must be notarized and include a copy of the original document. If the notarized translation does not meet quality standards the Office of Admissions reserves the right to decline the document.
  • If you have attended an ESL program you may be considered a first-time student, but you are still required to submit transcripts from your ESL program.

Transfer Students

A transfer student is someone that has attended a post-secondary institution (college or university). If you are a transfer student you will be required to submit an official transcript for every post-secondary institution you have attended; this includes domestic (US) institutions as well as international.

  • International post-secondary transcripts must be submitted as official course-by-course evaluations through an approved evaluating agency. A course-by-course evaluation is required for all international transcripts even if the transcript is already in English.

A list of approved evaluation agencies can be found here under the "Current Members" section.
