Please read the Pre-Admission Conference page and then submit the Interview Form. The Dental Laboratory Technology Program at the Bluegrass Community & Technical College began in 1965. It is one of the premier teaching institutions in the country.
Students are educated and trained under the tutelage of three full-time and three part-time instructors. The curriculum includes all facets of dental laboratory technology including ceramics, crown & bridge, orthodontics, complete dentures and removable partial dentures.
More than 400 students have graduated from the Program. Many graduates own dental laboratories while most work in commercial labs or private dental offices. Some work in dental sales, manufacturing and teaching. Still others have become dentists, dental assistants or dental hygienists.
The Program has two options - the traditional 2-year Associate in Applied Science degree or a 1-year Certificate Program for students seeking only the basics in dental technology.
Bluegrass Community & Technical College has an excellent job placement record with dental laboratories throughout the state.
