Prospective Members

Chapter Purpose

The promotion of scholarship and service, the development of leadership, and the cultivation of fellowship.

Eligibility

  • completion of 18 semester hours
  • a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale

Membership is by invitation only. However, membership in the Alpha Phi Kappa chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is open to any BCTC student who meets the eligibility requirements. Letters are mailed every fall and spring semester to each eligible student's address as listed in PeopleSoft.  Members are inducted twice a year during the fall and spring semesters.

  • Transfer scholarships designated exclusively for Phi Theta Kappa members
  • Golden Key Membership materials such as pins, certificates, identification cards and diploma seals
  • Letters of recommendation from PTK for transfer into a Four-Year College or to a potential employer
  • Induction Press Release listing your name among the nation’s Two-Year collegiate honor students

There is a one time dues fee. This fee is shared between Phi Theta Kappa International, the Kentucky Region, and our chapter.
