New Horizons 2010New Horizons Conference: Call for Art SubmissionsThe Bluegrass Community and Technical College in conjunction with the KCTCS office of Professional Development is excited to be hosting the fourth annual KCTCS Art Exhibit at the upcoming New Horizons Conference in May. We are looking for artists among faculty and staff throughout the KCTCS system to display pieces in this show. Participants’ submitting accepted artwork prior to (TBD) will have their names listed in the New Horizons Conference Program. Notification of acceptance will sent at a time TBD. Submission criteria & submission procedure: This is a juried exhibit. Images for review may be submitted either by following this link for an online submission form or by sending a photo of the work being submitted along with your name, the name of the piece, medium and dimensions as an email to billd.snyder@kctcs.edu . You may also send by regular mail to Bill Snyder, Room N115B, 164 Opportunity Way, Lexington KY 40511. All media will be considered for the exhibition but there are a limited number of spaces available. All visual arts must fit within display and usage guidelines for the space available. (additional information pending) Pieces may pose no chemical, electrical, biological, acoustical, radiological, kinetic, thermal, or other hazards. Late submissions must be received no later than (TBD) for jurors to review. Artists will be notified if they have been included in the show by (TBD). Note: Late deadline submissions will not be listed in the conference program. We strongly encourage you to submit your work by the program deadline (January 1 Insurance coverage & artist’s responsibility:The Bluegrass Arts in Focus Committee will monitor the exhibit during the conference. When submitting, please put an approximate dollar value for each piece. We will insure those pieces that have a value on the submission form but cannot insure those pieces with no value listed. Please note that because of the nature of the exhibit, we cannot solicit sales and none are allowed during the exhibit. Due to the issues involved in shipping and handling, we ask that either the artist or a representative from his/her college attending the conference deliver the pieces to the exhibition area by (TBD). Provisions must be made for collecting the pieces between TBD. All pieces should be ready to display*. Easels and display tables will be provided but for large works or those needing special display considerations, the artist must provide the necessary accommodations. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your talent to the KCTCS community across the state. Thank you The BCTC Arts on Campus Exhibitions Committee. * 2 dimensional work should be framed. Canvases should, at a minimum, be on stretchers. No matted only pieces. |
