New Horizons 2008
New Horizons Conference: Call for Art SubmissionsThe Bluegrass Community and Technical College in conjunction with the KCTCS systems office is excited to be hosting the second annual KCTCS Art Exhibit at the upcoming New Horizons Conference in May. We are looking for artists among faculty and staff throughout the KCTCS system to display pieces in this show. The exhibit will be in the Bluegrass Pre-function area at the conference center of the Hyatt Regency Lexington . Participants’ submitting prior to December 14 2007 will have their listed in the New Horizons Conference Program. Submission criteria & submission procedure:This is a juried exhibit. Images for review may be submitted either by following this link for an online submission form or by sending a photo of the work being submitted along with your name, the name of the piece, medium and dimensions as an email to billd.snyder@kctcs.edu or by regular mail to Bill Snyder, Room N115B, 164 Opportunity Way, Lexington KY 40511. All media will be considered for the exhibition but there are a limited number of spaces available so some pieces may not be accepted. All visual arts must fit within display and usage guidelines for the space available in the Lexington Civic Center. Pieces may pose no chemical, electrical, biological, acoustical, radiological, kinetic, thermal, or other hazards. Submissions must be received no later than May 5th for the jurors to review and select among the entries. Artists will be notified if they have been included in the show by May 12 2008. Insurance Coverage & Artist’s Responsibility:The Bluegrass Arts on Campus Committee will monitor the exhibit during the conference. When submitting, please put an approximate dollar value for each piece. We will insure those pieces that have a value on the submission form but cannot include those pieces with no value listed. Please note that because of the nature of the exhibit, we cannot solicit sales and none are allowed during the exhibit. Due to the issues involved in shipping and handling, we ask that either the artist or a representative from their college attending conference deliver the pieces by 8:00 a.m. on the opening day of the exhibit. Provisions must be made for collecting the pieces between 12:00 and 1:00 pm on the final day of the conference. All pieces should be ready to display*. A limited number of easels will be provided but for oversized or three dimensional works needing special display considerations, the artist will need to provide the necessary accommodations. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your talent to KCTCS members throughout the state. Thank you The BCTC Arts on Campus Exhibitions Committee. |
