Bluegrass Community & Technical College: Dental Laboratory Technology

The Dental Laboratory Technology Program at the Bluegrass Community & Technical College began operation in 1965. It is one of the premier teaching institutions in the country.

Students receive training and education under the tutelage of four full-time and two part-time faculty. The curriculum includes all facets of dental laboratory technology including ceramics, crown & bridge, orthodontics, complete dentures and removable partial dentures.

Over 350 students have graduated with an Associate in Applied Science Degree. Numerous employment opportunities await graduates. Most grads own dental laboratories or work in commercial labs and private dental offices. Some grads work in dental sales, manufacturing and teaching. And still others have gone on to become dentists or work in one of the related dental professions.

New for 2007 is a one-year Certificate Program for students who seek just the basics in dental technology.

The Bluegrass Community & Technical College has an excellent job placement record with dental laboratories from across the region seeking graduates from the Program.
