CUMBERLAND, KY (June 14, 2013) – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents approved a 2013-14 budget of $928,704,000 during its quarterly meeting today at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Cumberland campus. The budget includes a 2.86 percent increase in tuition for in-state students. The board also adopted KCTCS President Michael B. McCall’s recommendations for a two percent salary increase for full-time faculty and staff.
“I applaud President McCall and his team for their outstanding fiscal management that allows us to compensate faculty and staff for their dedication and untiring efforts in serving our students,” said KCTCS Board of Regents Chair P.G. Peeples.
A two percent or $1,000 (whichever is larger) salary increase will apply to each regular full-time KCTCS faculty/staff member who has met or exceeded their job requirements on their 2012-13 performance evaluations. This increase will be funded using existing funding bases.
The board also approved an increase in in-state tuition rates for the 2013-14 academic year from $140 per credit hour to $144. Out-of-state tuition rates approved include a $288 per credit hour rate for out-of-state students from counties contiguous to Kentucky and $504 for all other out-of-state students.
The approved tuition rates are consistent with the parameters established by the Council for Postsecondary Education. These parameters include an in-state tuition rate increase of three percent and out-of-state rates of at least double in-state rates.
