LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 15, 2012) – Three members of Bluegrass Community & Technical College’s staff were named as ‘connectors’ last Tuesday by the Bluegrass Community Connectors Project.
Bruce Manley, Director, Winchester-Clark County Campus; Joellen Reed, Resource Development, Winchester-Clark County Campus; and Erin Howard, Hispanic Outreach Coordinator, Cooper Campus were among the 144 community members that were chosen throughout the state.
The connectors were chosen from among 5,000 nominations received from the public via online balloting since last August. The project was designed to recognize individuals who turn ideas into actions, many times without recognition.
The project’s goal was to create new networks of local activists to expand the good work they are already doing in their communities. According to the United Way of the Bluegrass, bringing these individuals together can create the synergy necessary to advance our common good like never before.
