Bluegrass Community & Technical College’s (BCTC) Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs held their annual pinning ceremonies May 2 – 4.
This special ceremony is given for the graduating nursing students, along with their families and friends, and serves as a symbolic welcoming into the nursing profession. At the ceremony, members of BCTC’s nursing faculty presented the new nurses with their nursing pins. The graduates recited the Nightingale Pledge and participated in a traditional candle lighting ceremony in tribute to legendary founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale.
