Welcome to Bluegrass Community and Technical College!

We are pleased that you are considering making us your choice for education.  For many students, Higher Education Begins Here.  Whether you are working toward a bachelor’s degree or gaining new skills to start you on a rewarding career, you have come to the right place. 

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is a part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).  It was formed by the consolidation of Lexington Community College and Central Kentucky Technical College in 2005.  Students now have many more choices for classes, courses, programs, and training for a better life ahead. In tight economic times, BCTC is still a bargain for a first-rate education which will open further options to you – a good paying job or transfer to a 4-year college or university. 

The transfer programs provide a bridge to baccalaureate degrees.  BCTC transfers more students to the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky State University and Northern Kentucky University than does any other institution.  The career and technical programs teach state-of-the-art skills development.  More than 80% of students graduating with a diploma or degree get high-paying and stable jobs, some even before they graduate from BCTC.  And while you are getting a good education, student activities will give you the chance to learn outside the classroom.

Our student services and support staff can give advice and direction in career choices and assist you in many ways to be successful.  Our teaching faculty will guide your learning and help you achieve academic success.  Our programs and services meet emerging workforce needs, giving students excellent connections to the world of work.  For business and community partners, our training support and community services are second to none.

We have campuses across the region and many options for taking online classes.  The Regency Road Campus in Lexington is the location of choice for many with its schedule of classes in business and transfer programs.  You can also find a rich mix of classes at the other BCTC campus locations in Danville, Lawrenceburg, Georgetown, Winchester, and Lexington and the Lancaster Higher Education Center.  Please plan to visit any of our instructional sites and talk with admissions advisors, financial aid coordinators, and other staff or faculty to explore your program options and discover the many ways we can contribute to your educational success.  Our job is to help you determine and fulfill your educational goals.
