ETE 241; ELECTRONICS I; 4 CREDITSDESCRIPTION:
Semi-conductor devices are studied in this course. Emphasis is on design, construction and troubleshooting of diode, thyristor and transistor circuits, amplifiers, and power supplies. Lecture, three hours; Laboratory, two hours. Prerequisites: Or concurrent, ETE 111, or consent of instructor.IMPLEMENTATION DATE: Fall 1988
COMPETENCIES:
Upon completion of this course, the student can:
1. design, construct and troubleshoot Zener regulated power supplies;
2. design, construct and troubleshoot simple transistor amplifier circuits;
3. design, construct and troubleshoot simple operational amplifier circuits;
4. design, construct and troubleshoot simple Thyristor circuits;
5. explain semiconductor operation;
6. interpret, design and prototype electronic circuits;
7. modify and prototype circuits to achieve design objectives;
8. select components based on design criteria;
9. calculate voltage, current and power gains of a given circuit; and
