ETE 134 COMPUTER HARDWARE MAINTENANCE 3 CREDITSDESCRIPTION: The maintenance of computer workstation hardware, including set-up of workstation for network and Internet access is presented. Internal addressing, architecture, interrupts, complete PC construction and basic troubleshooting are focal points. Lecture, 2 hours; Laboratory, 2 hours. Prereq: CIS 100 or Consent of Instructor. Prereq. or Concurrent CIS 110 or consent of instructor. Any EET student may take this course with consent of Instructor without meeting the prerequisites.

COURSE COMPETENCIES:
Upon completion of this course, the student can:
1. Identify all the components of a computer workstation;
2. demonstrate the ability to construct a computer workstation;
3. demonstrate the ability to add and configure peripheral devices in a computer workstation;
4. demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve basic hardware conflicts;
5. demonstrate the ability to install and connect to local networks and the World Wide Web;
6. demonstrate the ability to identify and replace defective components in the computer workstation; and
