Two great WHAT IS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY? Engineering Technology is that part of the technological field that requires the application of scientific and engineering knowledge and methods combined with technical skills in support of engineering activities. It lies in the area between the skilled craftsman and the engineer. The curriculum combines specialized and related science courses with course work in general education. Electrical Engineering Technology The Electrical Engineering Technology option is concerned with the design, prototyping, testing and modification of electronic circuits and instruments. The student will be able to perform complex electrical measurements using a wide range of electronic instruments. The student applies knowledge to the operation and service of complex electronic systems, and uses established engineering methods and procedures in the solution of electronic problems. A career in engineering technology is a logical choice for men and women who want to be involved with the applications of technology rather than advanced design and research. Opportunities for employment are varied and interesting. Sales, plant design and layout, maintenance, maintenance management, production control, planning and supervision, quality control, quality testing, design draftsmen, and electronic service and technical sales are but a few of the many opportunities for the engineering technician.
