Ryan Kelly

Ryan received his B.A. in geography from the University of Kentucky in 1993 and his M.S. in geography from Florida State University in 1995.  He began working for Lexington Community College in January 2000 and became a permanent member of the faculty in May 2000.  Prior teaching experiences include Florida State University during the 1994-95 academic year.  Ryan has taught English overseas in Japan through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program and has been a freelance English instructor for long spells in both Peru and Mexico.

He also worked for a long time as a bartender in my hometown of Pensacola Beach, Florida, and is proud to say that his biggest claim to fame is winning the 1999 Emerald Coast Blindfolded Bartending Contest (you must identify your bottles by shape, and, if you’re at a complete loss, by taste).

Ryan enjoys teaching (one would hope), computers, racquetball (contact me if you want to play), and world travel.  He started an independent travel photography venture entitled Worldshots in late 2001.

Ryan teaches GIS 110 and GIS 120.
