The Course Outline will vary for each topic and each student.   A problem or special project, approved by the instructor, will provide an opportunity for independent study for Civil Engineering Technology students.  Students with current jobs or previous experience in Civil Engineering can research or study related topics.  This course can also be used to complete required courses by studying the same materials and topics present during a normal semester offering.  Thereby allowing the student to complete the required course during a semester that it is not offered.

Course Competencies:

Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the chosen independent problem.

This course may be repeated to a maximum of six credits.  Lecture: (1 – 4).  Laboratory:  Variable.
