For the 2016 applicant year, students applying to Bluegrass Community and Technical College selective admission programs may elect to have their grade point averages (GPA) recalculated using only the grades and credit hours from their more recent college experience if they meet the following criteria:
Please note that the GPA Recalculation Option must mirror BCTC’s Senate Rules regarding Academic Bankruptcy Option. This means that students who have earned an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from any college or university are not eligible for the GPA Recalculation Option.
To file a GPA Recalculation Request, please print off the form below and submit with your complete application packet.
The Office of Admissions will review your request when your packet is processed and after the Fall semester grades have posted. You can check the outcome of your request by logging into your Selective Admission account. The recalculated GPA would be used in ranking applicants to selective programs, but would not be used to determine a student’s BCTC or cumulative GPA for any other purpose. (This policy is in effect for the 2014-2015 application year only. Policies on GPA recalculation may change in the future.)
Students applying to the Practical Nursing (LPN) Leestown or Danville program do not submit a GPA Recalculation Request. For any questions, please contact the Program Coordinator.
