Welcome From Our President

Dr. Augusta Julian

Welcome to Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC). We are transforming the Bluegrass Region - one student at a time, one employer at a time, one campus at a time, one community at a time.

Our college offers students many choices for classes, courses, programs, and training for a better life ahead. As we enter our 75th anniversary year of 2014, we remain dedicated to a high quality educational experience, just as was provided in 1939 when Fayette County and Lexington public schools started adult skills training. BCTC still gives students a first-rate, affordable education which will open further pathways to careers. Your educational need might be preparation for a good-paying job, or perhaps you are taking courses to transfer to a four-year college or university. BCTC programs and courses give students excellent connections to the world of work or create a good foundation in general studies. For business and community partners, our training support and services are second to none, supporting business development to meet emerging workforce needs.

The college’s student development and enrollment management staff give direction and advice in career choices and can assist you in many ways to be a successful student. Our faculty and academic support staff will guide your learning to help you achieve your goals. We are committed to fostering excellence in teaching and learning, with comprehensive and responsive programs and services, at campuses and centers across the region, and through distance learning. Please cruise the website or visit any of our campuses or centers to talk with admissions advisors, financial aid coordinators, and other staff or faculty to explore your program options and discover the ways BCTC is helping students across the Bluegrass find their educational future.

Serving all of Central Kentucky, BCTC is one of the two largest of the 16 colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

Start here. Go anywhere.

I congratulate you on choosing BCTC as a stepping stone to a better future, and I wish you every success in reaching your goals.
